sigh, i'm gona flung promos (out into the deep blue sea of despair)...but u noe what's worse? i m not panicking...
WHY?!?!
i should be banging my head against the wall now?
or flushing myself down the toilet bowl...

during GP lessons on tues, one of the essay qns that we were discussing was the topic on "Singaporeans have no time to be gracious"... to think of it, it's quite true...it's rare to see on the streets of Singapore, people who smile at strangers, just to brighten the day of others... in some country, it is the norm...or more precisely, it is inbred/inborn in them to be nice to others...
i'm not going to talk about strangers, just let me use some examples that i have seen for myself:
1) when you press the "open" lift button for others to exit, how many actually bothered to say "thank you"? maybe out of 30, about 1 or 2? maybe not even there... i'm not boasting or trying to make myself appear gracious, but from a young age, i was taught by my father to be polite to others as well as to thank ppl who bother to go out of their way to do something for you. Although i feel that my dad is very overbearing, he is the best example, for me, of someone who shows his happy face to others, no matter whether he is really feeling happy or not...n he's always the one pressing the "open" button or holding the door open...so from young, i thought it was the norm..but as i went out into the world, i realised to the contrary...
2) today, my classmates conducted a little "test"... they were one of the first few out of the lecture theatre, n thus stood at the corner, holding the door open for everyone... they stood there, wondering how many ppl would actually notice and thank them...to their surprise and my horror, they had a long while to wait...one whole mass of students left by that door, but only 1, only 1, bothered to thank them...i feel quite disappointed that it's in Singaporeans to assume that the doors are "naturally" open, and that they are not obliged to wonder why...it's this sort of unthoughtlessness and unawareness of the surroundings that make me worry about the graciousness of this country... intelligent, we can be...sophisticated? never...

perhaps u may feel that i m thinking too much...but if u care for Singapore, can u not help worrying?

yoyo...here to talk abt my sense of procrastination again...i know i know...i m a big fat idiot who havent learnt from her mistakes... just like before block test 1... same thing...i m such a fool...i keep telling myself to start mugging, cos promos gonna decide half of ur life, but no...still not starting... i guess i will fall under the sword of procrastination, or the lack of self-discipline... i keep watching dramas on the web, one after the other...my friends all have enough discipline to start watching after promos...but not me...

I SUCK!

hello ;D here to blog about yesterday, aka, the day of my 17th birthday ;D
went to sch for MAF dry run (actual thing is on Sept 6th) at abt 2...the entire ended at 9...
i think the councillors yesterday, had their fair share of bad luck...what with the rain starting at around 6 when the programme was due to start, n one of the ropes holding up the centrepiece giving way... the rain caused the programme to be shifted to the hall, n this caused one of the performances to be cancelled due to insufficient technical support in the hall...then bcos the performancers had to wait in the classrooms, which were quite a way off (in addition to the big bulky props n instruments needed), the performancers were all late in getting up the stage...which made it a big headache for us emcees who had to drag on our commentary as long as we could till the performancers were READY... sigh, altogether, the dry run wasnt a success at all...
though, i m not apporting the blame to anyone, just think that the Student Council was really unlucky last night...or to use a chi phrase 他们倒霉透了。。。it was one disaster after another, adding up to a catalysmatic mother of all disasters... hopefully, n i pray with all my heart, nothing (n i mean NOTHING) like this will happen on Sept 6th...or else all our efforts will just go down the proverbial drain...
but besides spewing abt the bad dry run yesterday, i would really like to thank EVERYONE who rmbered my birthday ;D thx ppl, i m super duper touched ;D n for those who even prepared a little something for me, i would positively like to give u one humongous big hug! haha ;D although the dry run left something to be desired, the birthday part was seriously ok ;D thx ppl! haha...
oh, i m damn happy i got to sing on the mike yesterday...haha, i know i sound kinda crazy when i say this, but its true...coz it's one of my childhood dreams to do so...haha like u know how some ppl wanna be a rockstar, well, i wanted to be a terrific singer who wowed everyone everytime i sang...though most of that didnt came thru, at least i got to sing on the mike n i'm proud to say, no one fainted away in horror or covered their ears n moaned...so, i should be quite ok...not brilliant, but acceptable ;D
oh, if u were wondering, i sang the first 2 verses of alicia keys's " If I Ain't Got You"...which i think is a totally smashing song for females to sing ;D coz it sounds super sexy if we girls sing it well ;D haha
ok, so ppl, lets cross our fingers for sept 6...rain all u want from now till sept 5th, but just not on sept 6th ;D please...with a cherry on top...

Signing off,
the curtain-puller ;D (haha, private joke to hamster n her yi ge ren)

my first blog post of my 17th year ;D

"Invisible" by Taylor Swift

She can’t see the way your eyes light up when you smile
She’ll never notice how you stop and stare whenever she walks by
And you can’t see me wantin you the way you want her
But you are everything to me

[Chorus:]
And I just wanna show you
She don’t even know you
She's never gonna love you like I want to
You just see right through me but if you only knew me
We could be a beautiful miracle unbelievable instead of just invisible

There’s a fire inside of you that can’t help but shine through
She’s never gonna see the lightNo matter what you do
And all I think about is how to make you think of me
And everything that we could be

[Chorus]
Like shadows in a faded light
Oh we’re Invisible
I just wanna look in your eyes and make you realize
I just wanna show you she don’t even know you
Baby let me love you let me want you
You just see right through me
But if you only knew me
We could be a beautiful miracle unbelievable instead of just invisible

She can’t see the way your eyes light up when you smile

30 mins n counting...
counting down to...
30 mins to...
to the day...
when a botak, wailing girl was borned...
while her mama screams in pain...
while her daddy looks on in ... a mixture of emotions...
30 mins to my 17th!
